What are the classroom rules for Family Feud?

Standard classroom rules (adapted from the TV show):

  1. Split the class into 2–4 teams of roughly equal size.
  2. One representative from each team comes up for the face-off — first to buzz answers; highest-ranked answer wins control.
  3. The controlling team takes turns guessing answers. 3 strikes and control passes to the opposing team for a steal attempt.
  4. Points are tallied as survey-style values (e.g., 32 points for the #1 answer, 18 for #2).
  5. The team with the most points after all rounds plays a bonus Fast Money round for double points.

How does scoring work for a classroom review?

Each correct answer earns the survey-style point value displayed on the board. The host (you) controls the reveal — when a team guesses an answer that's on the board, click to reveal it and the points go to that team.

For a 5-question game, total points usually land between 400–700 per team. Bonus modifier: award +10 academic points for any answer a team explains using the correct vocabulary.

How do I handle behavior management during the game?

Three rules that keep the energy high without losing control:

  • One voice per team — only the designated speaker calls out the answer; teammates can pass notes or whisper.
  • Volume meter — if the class noise exceeds the volume cap, the active team loses 50 points. Self-policing.
  • Sportsmanship bonus — surprise +100 points for the team that cheers a rival's good answer.
