Fast Money at a glance

  • Players: 2 from the winning team
  • Questions: 5 survey questions
  • Time: 20 seconds (Player 1) + 25 seconds (Player 2)
  • Target: 200 combined survey points to win the bonus
  • Duplicate rule: Player 2 cannot repeat Player 1's answers

Hosting the round smoothly

The biggest mistake new hosts make is rushing the reveal. After Player 1 answers, do not show points until Player 2 finishes their round — keeping the score hidden ramps the tension. When you reveal, build it up: read Player 1's answer, pause, then show the points. Repeat for all 5. Then bring Player 2 back and run their round before any total is shown.

The duplicate-answer rule

If Player 2 gives an answer Player 1 already said, the host buzzes and says "Try again" without resetting the clock. Player 2 must come up with a different answer for that question or move on. The 5 extra seconds in their round exist precisely because of this rule.

Common Fast Money mistakes

  • Forgetting to separate the players before round 1
  • Revealing Player 1's points before Player 2 plays
  • Letting the clock keep running during a duplicate buzzer (it should keep running, but new hosts often pause it by accident)
  • Reading questions too slowly — every second counts
